History – over 74 years of casting

2016

The foundries at Laihia, Loppi and Ruovesi form a new company called Alteams Finland Oy, a subsidiary of Alteams Oy.

2015

Production started at Alteams Poland Sp. 

2013

Alteams strengthens its global presence and improves competitiveness as a local supplier in the European market. The company decides to build a new factory to manufacture pressure die cast components in Lebork, Poland.

2010

Alteams strengthens its Indian and Chinese operations. The company also decides to build an in-house surface treatment facility in Chennai, India.

2009

A new factory starts production in Chennai, India. The company’s Jyväskylä operations are closed down and production machinery moved to China and India. Operations in Russia are also closed down.

2008

The China factory is expanded and a new foundry building is inaugurated in India.

2007

A new company, Alteams India Private Limited, is established in Chennai, India. A joint venture with Ashok Leyland begins manufacturing pressure die cast components. The name of the company is Ashley Alteams India Private Limited.

2006

In Russia OOO Alteams Vyborg starts deliveries of pressure die castings.

2005

A new factory is built in Suzhou. Alteams Hitech Tools starts in China. Stilexo Insdustri AB changes its name to Alteams Stilexo AB.

2004

Alteams starts foundry operations in Vyborg, Russia and establishes a production unit in Tallinn, Estonia. AB Intermekano BL is acquired by Stilexo Industri AB. The new company’s name is Intermekano Tools AB.

2003

Alteams Oy buys Tecknit Scandinavia AB, renamed Alteams Dispensing AB.

2002

Laihian Metalli Oy, Jyskän Metalli Oy and Lopen Metallivalimo Oy merge and the new company name is Alteams Oy with head offices in Jyväskylä. Stilexo Industri AB and Stilexo-Tecknit in China merge with Alteams Oy. The new company is renamed STS-Alteams (Suzhou) Electroics Co., Ltd. Valutyö Autio&Co Oy is acquired.

2001

Stilexo and Technit (USA) establish Stilexo-Tecknit (Suzhou) Electronics CO. Ltd.

1997–2000

ISO 9002, ISO 14001 and QS 9000 certification.

1996

Jyskän Metalli Oy opens a service centre in Oulu.

1985

Kuusakoski Oy acquires Laihian Metalli Oy.

1983

Laihian Metalli Oy acquires Valmet Jyskä factory’s light metal foundry which is renamed Jyskän Metalli Oy. Valutyö Autio&Co. Oy moves to Ruovesi.

1979

Valutyö Autio&Co. Oy is founded in Tampere, Finland.

1978

Stilexo starts pressure die casting of aluminium.

1971

Stilexo Industri AB is founded.

1955

Lopen Metallivalimo Oy is founded.

1950

Valtion Sytytintehdas and state owned Valmet merge. Valimo Kokilli Oy is founded in Vaasa, Finland. Production is gradually moved to Laihia between1953 and 1958.

1943

Finnish state owned Valtion Sytytintehdas starts pressure die casting of aluminium.
